I got the name Eva janes from a contact on genes reunited .Is there a possibilty i have my fathers mothers name wrong , Dont think there would be much chance of somebody named Janes and Somebody named Jayne having a Cyril Webb February 1926 , dont no though . thanks

Hi my Father married my mother Thelma Webb on March the 6/1954 , in Wednesbury Staffordshire .on the marriage cert my fathers name was registerd as Cyril Webb ,his fathers name was Harry Webb (deceased ) occupation miner. My fathers brother Sydney Webb was a witness.Looks like my grandmother must have either remarried or had other children out of marriage , going to order my fathers birth and Sydneys. really gratefull for everyones help .

may I suggest that if you are not sure what Cyril's surname was at birth, as if Sidney & Sibyl were half-siblings his mother may have brought him up with the surname of her 2nd husband rather than his birth surname.

It might be worth getting Sidney's birth certificate if you are sure he is family. His mother could be named as formerly xxxx (maiden name) lately (1st husbands name)

so the moter's maiden name on the 2 you have as siblings to Cyril is Jayne. Are you sure you have the right Cyril birth?

If she re-married, your father wouldn't be a Webb - unless she married another Webb of course! Why are you still putting question marks by the births - they have been found above.

My father Cyril was born 9 /02 1926? 27 Bedwelty wales . maybe when my Grandfather died . my grandmother remarried because my father had his brother Sydney d,o,b 1929? then a sister Cybil 1938?. It all seems relly confusing.thanks.

Jacqueline, what are the chances of another marriage of an H. Webb to an Eva Janes really? If you are unsure you need to get your father's birth cert to establish the facts. Might be nice to have that anyway!
The Harry who died 1924 died before Cyril was born so we might be way out with this one.

Can I make a suggestion? You need to establish your facts a bit more before trying to go further back. You could have found the marriage on Freebmd for example. The cert would show Harry's father and his age/occupation.

The death shows your birth year estimate is way out. I think you are guessing a bit too much, and could go astray by doing this.
