Tnks seems like in years gone by it was quite common for people to vary their name from census to census

Just to add that sometimes I've found relatives whose names were Donald used the name Daniel too. Don't know if that is of any help or not :)

Just to clarify the situation.

I did not spend any money on finding information for Christine.
I viewed the cert from a tree on another site.

Ellen, have you followed at all?

Christine / Abbey / Poo Bear and whatever other names she has used has been a disruptive influence on this board for weeks now, posting thread after repetitive useless thread about the same things. As I posted earlier in this thread, this is one of at least THREE about the same thing -- and the information that Kath posted had ALL been provided at least once before.

People can spend their own money to help if they happen to feel like it, surely, without negative comment from anyone else. All of us who help spend money on the subscriptions we use for the purpose.

The point is that members should not be ASKED for information when the person asking ALREADY HAS IT and it is quite obvious that no other information can possibly be found by any member of this website, no matter how many threads are started about the subject, in violation of the rules.

If you look for Agnes McMillan c1899 Glasgow,it will give you parents and where they married.

Ellen
PS people helping should not be spending money in finding info.

Kath appears to have spent her own money "finding" THINGS YOU ALREADY KNEW.

I know you apologized in your heart.

Kath,

All that info has already been given to Christine on her other thread - which is why duplicate threads are so frowned upon.

Hi Again,
Forgot to add that on the same tree, Margaret McMillan & William Marshall had a son b. 28th September 1926 @ 657 Edgefauld Road, Glasgow
JAMES SUTHERLAND MARSHALL.

He married ISABELLA MORRISON FENTON
26th June 1948 @ CAMLACHIE, GLASGOW

JAMES SUTHERLAND MARSHALL DIED 24TH JANUARY 1992 @ 122 RHYMER STREET, GLASGOW.

Please be aware that information on other people's trees are not always accurate.

Hi Christine,
Found some details of one of Daniel & Mary's children on a tree on another site.

MARGARET MCMILLAN B. 1904
Married 1st December 1922 HILLHEAD, GLASGOW
TO
WILLIAM SUTHERLAND MARSHALL

Margaret McMillans marriage cert (which I viewed) states that her parents were:
DANIEL MCMILLAN (Deceased) & MARY MCMILLAN, PREVIOUSLY MCVICAR, MS. PATON.

Looks like Margaret died before 1934 as William Marshall married again in March 1934.

Hope this helps
Kind Regards
Kath

If you look up Agnes's birth on Scotlandspeople you will find her mother's maiden surname and if it is your Mary Paton, you will then have the date and place of the marriage.

The 1901 census is the latest one released for Scotland. The 1911 will not be released until 2012.

If you enter the details without a male christian name (i.e. don't put Daniel in, just leave it blank) then there is a McMillan marriage in 1874 to a Mary Paton in Glasgow. It may of course, not be the couple that you are looking for. On the other hand Daniel may have given his name as Dan or Danny so enter Daniel will not give a result.

This looks to be that marriage and the groom is Robert McMillan.

So probably not worth using credits on - unless you aren't sure of Mr. McMillan's christian name.

EDIT

Do you mean that Mary married around 1880 or was born around 1880 please?
