On the first record for Charles Redhead on the military records ...... may have married some time after enlistment


on the line for his "wife" ................ Redhead is crossed out, Lappin or Laffern written in then crossed out, and Redhead written in again

On the next line Wife is crossed out, then written in again.

Shelly is correct Canning town is the opposite side of London to Kensington

I can only think that the eunumerator misheard Kensington for Canning town

all the data found points to the family being from Kensington

Charles Redhead born in Canning Town (Registration district Kensington) in Sept Quarter 1881. I think the 1911 census return found by brummiejan is likely. The 1891 would be the useful one because it would give details of his family members.

Martin, 1911 above is probably him - maybe you could check out that occupation!
