All I know is Eliza Unwin had a son called Frederick Unwin who was born 1885 in Leyton Essex/London. His birth certificate had her name but I cannot find any details for her. No fathers name x Thank you x |

Are you asking for her birth details? have you tried to search for a death cert for her? that would give you a starting point on age and her birth place. Did Frederick marry ? what info does he give for his father on that? might be she married/remarried? what does the census show for the address on the birth cert you have? dont forget to check homes a few pages either side ... her family may have lived near her.. Do you know if she was employed..that might give a lead.. happy hunting |

I have his birth certificate with her name Eliza Unwin on it. I know details about him but nothing about this mother or father. |

If the father wasn't named on the birth cert.. any info about him on Frederick's marriage cert would be suspect |

Had a look on FreeBMD and possibles: Eliza Unwin born 12/1860 Stepney GRO vol 1C page 503 or Elizabeth Unwin born 6/1862 in Bethnal Green GRO vol 1C pqge 265 These assume she was born roughtly in the same area as her son. There are numerous other possibles . |

If he was born in Leyton it would probably say West Ham or Essex |

Unless you can find her on 1891 census with her son, I'm afraid you may never find out about her. |

Did you get Eliza's name from your father? Just want to be sure you gave the right Frederick. It seems strange to change birthplace in 1911. |
