I don't know anything about a John. I have just looked on Ancestry and in 1871 Thomas & Ann were living in London, 1901 both also living in London. I was hoping that there would be a daughter somewhere along the line unless I have the wrong couple.

Thomas Goldsmith born 1832 Chatham Kent married to Annie ? (can't find marriage) born 1838 Deptford Kent. 1881 Census they are living at 3 Hosier Street, Deptford, St Paul Kent. They could have a daughter Annie born approx 1853 Deptford ?
Any help you could give me would be appreciated
