Sorry to be so confusing but I am not certain exactly where she was born and where I got it from, I was told it was Kent. I did have down 1853 Headcorn but I think that is another person. That is why I asked where Ann was born in the 1881 census because I am sure that is the correct person by what I have been told before. |

Julia, sorry to be dim, but I can't see where you have got Annie's birthplace from? |

I think I have worked it out. This would be Ann's first marriage to Richard Sayer, as you can see he is 26 and she is 28 which would make her birth 1853. They had four children so I was told and there are three here. It looks as if Richard died between 1881 and 1885 when she remarried. What do you think? |

Quite agree, it is a problem. I will give you what I know. I have a Mary Ann Goldsmith born abt 1853. I have her marriage certificate as Annie Sayer (23) (widow) to Joseph Bailey (father Thomas Goldsmith labourer) She was married before to Richard Sayer 1876 Dover and left a widow with four children. She married again to Joseph 19 Sep 1885 The Parish Church, Buckland Kent. I cannot find her on any census even 1881 so thought I would start looking for her father (perhaps not a good idea) When I saw 1881 census of Thomas & Annie I thought they could be the correct ones. |

On the 1861 Hannah (Ann) is 23. A birth in 1853 would make her 15 years old. |
