C ...... so glad it was only the arm of your glasses! Mine is the same ........ one reason why I went to the optician last week!

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 17 Nov 2010 21:17

Sylvs! Watch your language please! Bioluminescence indeed. Whatever next????

Looks like another visit to Specsave for me! Trouble is, I take them on and off all the time so they get weakened. Might be something to do with the size of my head....hahahaha.....OH suggested I wear them on a chain round my neck.......I told him what he could do with that idea pronto!!

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 17 Nov 2010 21:42

Mine are for reading and the computer ............ so I'm also taking them on and off all the time

and of course I do not do it properly!

The advice is always "Take them off by holding both arms, not just one"

HA ..................... that's sooooooooooo easy to do when you're carrying something in one hand and need to read the label and the glasses are hanging around your neck on a cord

NOTE ........... NOT a chain, but a cord!

Sorry LK .................................. I know you're going to give the same advice as all my opticians have ever done!

Oh yes ........ got an appointment to see the speicalist in January.

They left a message yesterday saying I had "an appointment on January 27 with a Dr C, in the same office as Dr B. Phone us if you want to know how to get to the appointment".

So I phoned this morning

"errr, I thought the appointment was going to be with Dr P, the specialist I've seen several times before?"

"Oh, she (ie the optician) wrote with Dr B, but Dr B's no longer doing them. Would you prefer to go back to Dr P?"

"Well, that's who we talked about!"

Ten minutes they phoned back ...... had cancelled the first appointment, and made one with Dr P, for January 19

Phoned OH, at his univ office ............ gave him the date, he said "Great, I've written down. We were thinking of possibly starting our winter course that day, we won't now so that I can take you"

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 17 Nov 2010 22:02

Fans.......maybe her wall is made of Rolling Stones?

Sylvs. I'd rather drop my specs on the floor as opposed to strangling meself thanks!

Just watching the news with the dreadful flooding in Cornwall.......those poor people. I would absolutely hate that sort of thing. I feel so sorry for them.

Photo for FB LK?

Have you got santa and the little helpers in gigs

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 17 Nov 2010 22:26

my arm fell off the other week

Fortunately, it happened after I had laid them down on the counter, and the screw only rolled a little distance away!

OH has the tiny tiny screwdriver his dad used before he rtitred (he was an optician).

OH carries it attached to his key case, so he can do repairs as and when necessary!
