I would have no prob living in Spain permanently as long as it was in the sticks and remote with not too many holiday makers about,get enough of them round hereabouts on the coast in the summer.
Dont forget I lived in Spain for a short 6 months and have spent time there since,but not for some years,its a good poss to move there when we get a pension,only 7 years for me,we have talked about it,but till then we have no way of making a decent living with HIDS health probs.
You can keep France though,Spain for me each time.
I have been to most European countries and Spain has always come out on top for me.

Yes Fans - we had to do same - we did not want OH to HAVE to work - so we waited until we had enough to live on for couple of years - until my pensions came in -

Although Paul worked within 3 months of us moving here -
but that is rare --- he is still the only ex Brit - that works for the Spanish - as a rule - they have Spanish workman - as one would expect

I am not just saying it - cos we are here - but as a general rule the Spanish are a friendly open people - very direct
- they say exactly what they mean - but I like that

Bit hard to get used to - initially - especially when they came in and say -

God God - why have you those ugly curtains - take them down and put them in rubbish

Err Yes ---Thank you we value your opinion - but I like them

Haven't said Hello for a while, so here's me helping nudge it to 10,000!

Don't you think it strange that we, who were SO involved in this, do not have a National Holiday to comemmorate this day ??

We honour it on the closest Sunday whereas France and Canada and, I am sure, many other Countries, take the whole day to 'remember' it !!

Fanny I have been to Sainsburys. called at B&Q to get some WD40 and came out with the biggest Christmas tree in the world....

Then went to lay flowers for dad and his brother who died in Italy in WW11...couldnt get to Italy today so they will have to share

Actually did you see AOGG thread about DW40 the other day. You can use it for all sorts, even your joints!

Nice one Dea...

Trouble is that WD40 stinks,I use olive oil or veg oil and put it on hinges and handles with a small paintbrush.
