Thank you everyone for your help. I am amassed at the speed and efficient way you have all helped. With regard to his Army years I had a cousin now no longer able to help who gave me some info and then I searched the web and found an army site with all the info. This was then verifed by Army personnel who vist the graves of the fallen every 11.11.

details were found on ancestry but you could have found it yourself on freeBMD you will have to purchase the cert for any other info

OOps again!!! so much for family info. I know that Mary was only 17 or 18 at the time of her marriage so will check my tree.

I would really like to findout who was Rons parents and did he have any siblings?

Thanks for the swift reply. Unfortunately I have not been able to find a marriage fopr them but I do know that they were married. Mary ford is my mothers sister but unfortunatley that generation are all decesed and many of my cousins are as well as my mother was the youngest of 10 children and there were 9years between her and the 9th child.I will try ot find a marriage again but simply getting a bit frustrated at the moment
