Are you sure about the dates here ?There is certainly a George Frederick Mason b 1835 who died 1900 Camberwell but how do you know he is the father of George Edward? Have you taken the info from the 1920 marriage cert and assumed this isthe right one? |

This was George Edwards second marriage we do know for sure because we have the accurate information from that point on. George Edward dob 1865/67 it varies on the different census but on his marriage cetificate he is 57 in 1920, so I take that dob for my records. |

I have just printed off the 1871 census and maybe it is the correct George Edward with father George Fred' I do wish the census people would have put the second names on the forms it would make the detective work a bit easier. Now do I send for the marriage cert' for George F' and Sophia or try looking throught the marriage searches? |

I posted the marriage record for the benefit of the researchers because the added information it contained may have been useful. When we are looking for someone we are working blind. You have to remember that you know this family from your research but we don't and the more information we can find then the better it is. You gave us the year of his first marriage but didn't tell us that on that record his father was just Frederick and a labourer. So how do we know if we are looking for a George Frederick or just a Frederick? What made you decide to go by the name on the 1920 marriage and not the 1890 one? What other information do you have that names his Father as George? |
