Find Ancestors

im trying to find info about Elias Sheringham , born about 1870, he was my great grandmothers father (Annie/Henrietta Sheringham born about 1890) not sure of area, poss london area, poss irish link. not sure when died but know it was before 1916. any help would be appreciated

If you can find Annie/Henrietta on the 1901 census you might get more of an idea of the age of Elias and where he was born ...

On the 1891 census an Annie Sherringham age 1 is a patient in East London Hospital for Children and Dispensary for Women in Shadwell, London. Birthplace is nor known.

This is the only birth on Ancestry for Elias Sherringham (earlier than you say):-

thanks just looked on BMD free, got some poss leads

i belive she died , annie nathan in about 1969/70, married as annie in 1916, but think she was born henrietta, not poss about birth year

There isn't a marriage for either an Annie or a Henrietta Sherringham in 1916 on Ancestry.

EDIT - SORRY - there is a marriage in 1916 - I but two "r's" in Sheringham by mistake. On the marriage record she is Annie H. Sheringham.

ive got the wedding cert, annie henrietta sheringham married martin michael nathan 12/12/1916

it says she was 26 when got wed, poss mistake ? as i think it might be 1888

unfortunatly my nan says she thinks elias (her grandfather) hung himself

If the age is not obvious (ie Banns or where they put "full age") it is quite often transcribed as the year of the event. Confusing or what?
