Thats great Thanks, I haven't been able to locate any potential deaths at all. That would make sense as I was born in 1979 and never was a word spoken about the ggrandparents so I had to assume death was prior to my birth but that didn't narrow it down too much. Their last child appears to have been born in 1934 so at a guess they both would have passed away between 1934 & 1979. Think I will have a long list of certs to order soon! Again your help is very much appreciated. Thank you. |

Hi, No I have no idea of Death and have not been able to whittle down any possibilities. I only know that at least 3 of the children stayed in Rochford so would presume Ada & Archibald both died there. There was only one surviving child left when my Grandfather passed away that was Queenie but she was unable to help with dates etc. I really appreciate your help with this, Thanks. |

his death index then gives dob as 25th not 28th. I think if you don't have the marriage cert or know for certain ggrandparents name then it will confirm the ggrandfather |

Hi JanSmith, I don't have my grandparents marriage certificate. I know they married in Rochford 1953. I need to order this Certificate dont i!! This is when i can double check the info offered and compare with my findings. Is it normal that with the 12 children(potentially) that 10 are born in Rochford and 2 in Romford? Charles was born 1928 Rochford Died Rochford/Southend on Sea 2004. Thanks very much for the help.. All my family are from Essex but I don't live in the area as we moved when I was little! Thanks again. |

Good point Irishgel, hadn't thought about that. Also with what appears to 12 children they certainly were busy! I will take all the info offered and use the marriage cert to hopefully make a heap of progress. Nice to get over one hurdle!! Thanks all. Any more info very much appreciated. Thanks Andrew that looks really promising and very useful found it very difficult to whittle down any census info so hopefuly that has given me a foot up! |

A September quarter registration, if in July, would still be within the 42 days time limit. |

Lorna.... The death certificate will contain the information the informant provides so if they are not correct it can make it harder to trace real info. As you suggest it would be best to see what his mothers maiden name was on the marriage certificate before you go forward. good luck |
