I don't think there's any connection to your James Edward Manson. Manson is my married name. My husband's ancestor emigrated to Canada around 1805 from Ayrshire, Scotland.

Can no one find Frances Ann Anderson born 1861 last heard of on board ship "Nova "Scotian" bound for Quebec?

Well they landed in 1867 and she was 5 years old but is not with the family on the 71 census so I presume she must have died.
