Thanks rootgatherer, I should have remembered that. I once found a couple who I thought had married twice (once in Liverpool and once in Duns in Berwickshire) until somebody pointed out that the Scottish one was probably the bans and not the actual marriage. This was after civil registration. |

Have you got the names in the right boxes - very easy to put first name in surname box! |

Are you sure you are searching under Old Parish Registers - the column with the blue background? |

Just checked again on scotlandspeople and a marriage IS coming up in Kenmore! In fact both the marriages from familysearch are there. It is a bit of a coincidence for two couples with the same names to mary in adjacent villages within two days! |

The Fortingall marriage is coming up on scotlandspeople - I don't have any credits to view it. |

The OPRs are mainly Church of Scotland records so they may have married in a different church eg United Free, Roman Catholic etc. |

You are quiet correct Potty. Scottish death certificates (after 1855, when registration began) give the name and occupation of the father and name and maiden surname of the mother if the informant knew them. Female deaths can be searched using both the married surname and the maiden surname as a cross reference. |

Yes, I saw your other thread - I think Temon must be a mistranscription - I can't find it in Perthshire. Could you look at the original image on scotlandspeople? |
