I think the next stage is to get the marriage certificate of Rose E Chapman and Henry Voller, December 1911.

The 1911 census says they have been married for 15 years. Living at 232 Sellincourt Road, Tooting. But despite having paid my 30 credits, I can't view the original record.

So, talking to myself. Where was Henry Voller in 1901? And Rose Chapman.
Oh, I already found Rose!

Rose chapman is described as spinster, so perhaps Henry was married before ?

On 1911 she gives her age as 29 born Mitchum Surrey ? Hmmm

I meant did we have a birth for Dorothy. Sadly lots of Dorothy Chapmans.

But also a Dorothy Voller:

Oh, I realise that has already been found.

So Rose Chapman did not marry Henry Voller till 1911, by which time she had 3 children. It would seem that Henry and Nellie (Rose Ellen) were his, though why not married? And a later child Albert. But perhaps not Rose Chapman. Did we have a birth for her?

EDIT do we have a birth from Dorothy Chapman - but see next post, she is Dorothy Voller.

Yes, Lindsey, I think this is the Nellie in 1911.

Nellie on the army record and in 1911 is probably Rose Ellen.

There is no Nellie Voller birth, but there is a Nellie Chapman. There are both Henry Chapman and Henry Voller births.

Rose chapman spinster, married 1911,
Son Henry 1901 and Rose Ellen 1903

On the 1911 census Rose says she has been married for 15 years !

Been looking at that one Selina. Father is a carman born in Erlsfield, London and had been married 15 years.

Cheers peeps! but can anyone help with Dorothy's mum? I couldn't find a marriage for James, Henry Voller. I tried to find James on the 1901 Census with daughter Dorothy born 1899 and hoped to find out the Christian name of his wife but no luck!! :-(
