Potty, Thank you so much. I thought I had been looking up free BMD all this time. It pays to ask! Kathy |

Thank you everyone for your help. It just amazes me how quickly you all are able to find this information. I guess it comes with experiance and knowing where to look for the info. Thanks once again Kathy |

Kathleen, found it on freebmd by specifying "phonetic search" for surname - as the spelling is slightly off it would not locate it otherwise. A useful facility. recommend it if you are having trouble! |

Potty, Thank you I did find all the children's births apart from my grand mother Ellen Anna and Rose. How did you find it? I even wrote to the GRO office and they sent me an e-mail back and said they probably were not registered! so I gave up. I did however send for one of the brothers Cater Brockwell and was suprised to find his mothers maiden name was Cater. Thank you Kathy |

Ann, not the right William as he was married to Charlotte Cater. Thanks |

Margaret Rose's birth - the cert will give you her mother's maiden name which will help in find William's marriage: |

Looks like you might have him, but if you need it (note mis-spelling of surname if you order cert): |
