Find Ancestors

Hi all
I've not been doing this long and have now become stuck! Have traced my g grandfather who was born in Raydon Suffolk and his marriage to Sarah Ann Ward in 1878 - on marriage cert it states his father as Edward Sallow Hicks (same name!) deceased - Farmer.
I have found gg Grandfather E S Hicks but can find no trace of siblings.
According to my late mum the story was that GGG was a squire who had 3 sons and 2 daughters - his Son Edward ran off with the cook and was disinherited......... (this is the story I was told) Edward married Sarah and they moved to Colchester then Twickenham and had 6 children the youngest being my grandfather William (Willie) Hicks.
I cannot find any trace of siblings for Edward born 1851!!

In 1841 there is just Edward and his sister Frances.

Got the birth cert for Edward 1851 & it state his mother was Eliza Hicks late Sallows formerly Berry - does this mean she had been married before?
I have traced Edward 1851 to Twickenham but have found no siblings for him, - also can't find his mum or dad after 1951 census - any ideas?

Think I found Edward b 1851 in the 1871 census age 19 living in Ipswich with Hannah Hicks age 72 (an Aunt perhaps) but 1861 don't know where he went!

According to my mum when his wife Sarah and youngest daughter Katie Hannah Hicks died of scarlet fever after 1901 census and before 1911 census
'he took to drink lost everything and burnt all papers in his depression birth certificates etc the lot'
he did recover as he visited my mum about 1924 when she was ill.

Are you sure she was Kate Hannah ? This is the only Kate I can find in the right area
