Find Ancestors

I am visiting the records office in Glasgow this month and am happy to look up Scottish records for anyone who requires info.

I would really appreciate if you could have a look to see if you can trace their marriage date and possibly who their parents were. If at all possible if you could look up William Mulligan's date of birth his parents were John Mulligan and Margaret Dolan he was born c1855 in Midlothian, Edinburgh.


I do have one more request Margaret Dunlop and Quintin Connell please could you look them up as well as their children Arichbald Connell 13/03/1814, Qunatin Connell 22/07/1818, William Connell 5/01/1812. I want to confirm that I have the correct parents for Arichbald Connell, and I would also like to find out when Quintin and Margaret got married and a long shot would be to find out who Quintin and Margaret's paretns are.

Thanks for the offer. Could you please lookup a marriage:

Helen Thomson & John Neville (or Norman) 21 Jan 1859 Old Monkland or 31 December 1859 at Coatbridge.

I got the first info from their daughter Ann's birth cert 1868 Kilmadock, Perth. The second date comes from their daughter Marjory's birth cert 1870 Kilmadock.

The family started off as Nevilles then changed their name to Norman!!

John Ferguson born about 1747 Cambusnethan Lanarkshire.

I have his marriage details from SP -
1772 Cambusnethan Lanarkshire to Margaret Hodge - also have her birth records buth cannot find Johns.

Are you able to look at birth records 1927=1931? I am so annoyed as I have 27 credits on Scotlands People and they have expired!


Harold Ernest Gould married Kathleen Molloy (not in Scotland) 1927, he died April 1st 1931 in Glasgow last address 64 Spring Bank Street Glasgow (death cert says district of Hillhead)

I just need to know if they had any children before or just after he died.

Jean can I ask a favour on your visit to Scotland this month, is there any possiblity you could look for my great grandfather x 3 name of :- John( Belshe or Belches?) Bird, born 1808 Perthshire, according to records on ancestry he was a Historical artist/Engraver, I have searched on Scotlands People and am unable to find anything regarding his birth, only his marriage=15/10/1838 to Elizabeth Stewart.
Also my great grandfather x 5 on my other side David Brown, I think born about 1771 Dunsyre, Ayrshire, unable to find anything for him at all, he married Janet Aitken 12/12/1802.

Looking for information on my Great grandfather Robert Dawson born c1855 in Bathgate West Lothian, not to sure when he died, he might have died in Edinburgh, my Great grandmother Marion Dawson (nee Bryce) born c1857 Whitburn West Lothian. I do not know when they married, it must be before my grandfather was born c1877.

They had four children Francis Dawson (my grandfather) born c1877 Bathgate, John Dawson born c1887 bathgate, Robert Dawson born c1890 Bathgate, Christina Dawson born c1901 Edinburgh.

Could you look for marriage date for Robert & Marion also the birth dates for their children.

thank you very much for your kind offer,
I wonder if you could find anything on siblings James Moore b. c 1850 in Ireland and Margaret Moore b. c 1840 in Ireland , parents are John and Mary nee Mullan, they are on the 1861 scottish census with their brother Henry , all three as lodgers, no sign of their parents.
I have been searching for them both for ages , last time I have James is on his brother'smarriage lines in Tradeston in 1869, last time for Margaret is the 1861 census.

would appreciate mre info on Annie Breckenridge. She married in 1891 aged 21yrs. From her marraige cert her parents were John Breckenridge & Isabella Boyd Grant. Could you find her birth cert c.1870 and details of her parents from their marriage cert.

thank you for the offer, if you have time I really would appreciate anything you can find on Henry Stewart Moore b. 1859 in Glasgow, I have his birth certificate which shows him as illigitimate, his mother was Margaret Stewart and father Henry Moore, he is last on the 1891 scottish census living with his parents ( they married in Tradeston in 1869 ) . On the census he is Henry Moore.
On his birth certificate it shoes him as Henry Moore Stewart
