I doubt that very much hun!
It was just that I spent about an hour and a half helping (or at least I thought I was helping) and got the PM that implied, I had implied she hadnt answered her posts soon enough!
Not the case, if thats what I meant, thats what I would have said...I mean, I am a Yorkshire lass with an Irish dad, we dont do 'around the houses' but we were brought up with manners!!!
And...if thats how I felt about people not answering quick sharp, I'd delete my posts and be a real son of a b####

Well, what can one say?
Elizabeth, I send many similar such pm notes as Ginny's because there are so many new folk on here who have not yet discovered the My Threads facility.
Some do not reply to me at all - fine, I've done what I could to help them.
Of those who do reply, all are extremely grateful for the advice. Some are new to the site completely, whilst others have been members for quite a while but have never used the boards before.
Ginny, myself and several others, do what we can to help new people find their way around the site and thus avoid conflict when replies aren't answered.
I do hope you have sent an apology to my friend Ginny.
Ginny - calm down dear, it's only an advert!!! lol.

Well Elizabeth - what a very unpleasant response to Ginny - most uncalled for - all she was doing was trying to help you - nothing more
and I never check to see how long a member has been on the site - why should I
Seems to me you are very fortunate that people have helped you at all

I think these days, certain past members have made the current ones jumpy...
I like the rest of us have moments when you think oh god another one.... and i agree with sentiments stated here that we are not to know you've search the trees here already Elizabeth!
As a long standing member, you maybe ought to have known to add a litle more info? Just merely changing your post to reflect the fact you have already serached trees here and maybe on other sites to indicate your past searches might have helped us here a little.
I agree with all the 'standard' remarks given, i have also replied in that vein to someone whom has posted such a basic request!
Elizabeth, the end of your post states "Any assistance will be most appreciated. Thanks.".....that is exactly what we are doing, and while it may seem patronising, you have not made any indication in your original thread you are not new to this site...
Having said that, i have had my botty smacked on more than one occasion for missing the most basic of data on my own hunts for rellies, and without the 'basic' 'standard' replies i would have missed it!!
While we are all very different people on here and we all react as those different people, we are all ultimately here for the same reason, lost pain in the but rellies whom have decided for whatever reason to hide from us!... or trees that just won't grow anymore!!! (and the seasoned members ones helping everyone else try and solve problems, in the vain hope of learning something for personal use)
I personally arrived with 3 very very large brick walls, one has been removed brick by brick the other 2 still remain, and weirdly more knowledge is making the walls taller!!
.....as for nasty PM's, well thats just not on!...i for one would have reported you immediately to GR, behaviour like that is just not needed here!!! If you don't like the advice given then do nothing, that PM certainly does nhot warrant a nasty reply....
...just my 2 pennies worth, shoot me down in flames, you won't be the first and i can assure you, you won't be the last!!

Hi Elizabeth
Re; PM Hi Elizabeth
not sure if you are new and know how to get back to look at the replies on your thread?
If you dont know how. Just look to the left of the screen when you are on the community page and about half way down there is a button that says 'My Threads'..click on there and you will see all your threads
Sorry if you know how to do this already!!
Ginny x ...........................................................................................
I seem to have upset you re the above pm I sent (and your pm reply to me)
I dont think what I sent you sounds rude,I was only trying to help.
Quinsgran mentioned that you might be new and I thought I could help if you were
Im a bit upset about the Pm you sent me as it is not very nice, I wont post it as it was a PM from you which means you wanted it to be kept that way. I wasnt 'getting at' anything
If you wanted to know about other trees NOT on this site it might have been worth saying so.

Sorry - me again with just a little "ps".... re my statement in my initial request of 'does anyone have this lady in their tree please'....I certainly don't have ALL my relatives in my tree on this site, & I am sure others don't either. Cheers!

Thankyou ALL for your assistance. It's really appreciated. Just to clear things up for you folk who have been so kind as to reply with the info:- I am NOT new to this site. I have been with genes for quite a few years now. And yes, I DO know how to get into my threads. Please people, do keep in mind when & if you reply to people they may live on the other side of the world as I do - in New Zealand, actually. This means we are either 11, 12 or 13 hours ahead of the UK. Hence, it was "07.23" as the time on my posting, BUT......it was last evening here! Therefore I have spent a few hours inbetween, catching up on my sleep. Thanks again everyone. Cheers! Elizabeth

I'm not being mean! I thought it was a perfectly logical way to see if she was in anyone elses tree!
That was the question. Does anyone have this lady in their family tree please
Do they? Search trees & you'll see that no-one does.
Do you honestly look & see how long anyone has been member before you reply? I dont. The sample reply would haveapplied to someone that joined yesterday as to someone that joined 10 years ago.
