i thought that maybe amy had married twice which is possible and would account for either names being used on births of children, but why would William change his name to Reginauld

sablon

sablon Report 24 Aug 2009 16:34

william Frederick married Amy blondel and had 2 children in guernsey
Reginauld Frederick married amy duquemin and had 3 children
Unless they are the same couple,it don't make sence

sablon Report 24 Aug 2009 16:25

yes i know
I found him in Guernsey had a son born 1909 Edward James Tranfield ,not many of them in Guernsey, thought he maybe williams octavius's son as william had another son that is not in alderney with him in 1901 Wilfred George 1898 ,but found wilfred, died at 2 months.in 1898,But there is no sighn of Reginald.,He Married an amy and had Edward.
Edward is on the 1911 census but Reginald is not

Glad to be of service -I think it possible William was in the Army earlier -the pattern of Ireland and the Channel Islands for the childrens births matches a tree I recently drew up for a friend whose ancestor was in the Army and stationed in Ireland and the Channel isles
