Oh sorry i never thought of it like that, i was looking for a William edge as the father .

Could Martha Glover on the 1841 census be Isaiah's mother who has married William Glover, and this is who Isaiah has named on his marriage certificate.

If he was just asked "What is your father's name?" he may have just answered "William" and whoever was recording the information assumed that it was William Edge.

Isaiah was married in 1843 to elizabeth howland living in bradford on the 1851 census
