Just received a marriage cert dated 1859 of Isaiah Edge born c1822,in Deane Lancashire married to Ester keefe residing in Bradford, Isaiah's states his Father was a william Edge a labourer, Can anyone please help me find William on any of the censuses thanking you in advance marie.

What age was Esther when they married...I can't see Isaiah on the 1851 so will need to pick him up in the 1861

Was William deceased at the time of the marriage?

No he was a labourer thanks

That's right you don't ,..as i said The 1841 doesn't give you relationship details.

So it could be that Martha is his Mum and she remarried to William Glover

Could Martha Glover on the 1841 census be Isaiah's mother who has married William Glover, and this is who Isaiah has named on his marriage certificate.

If he was just asked "What is your father's name?" he may have just answered "William" and whoever was recording the information assumed that it was William Edge.

Oh sorry i never thought of it like that, i was looking for a William edge as the father .

I think Julie might be right, and she re-married William Glover as per the above marriage.
