Well done Brenda !!!

So that would have made Audrey 37 when she married.

And after the 5th child that was born in 1969.

Could they have married outside of the UK. Just thinking out loud !

Edit: Scrap that, i'm sure audrey would have remembered if they did.

Maybe Audrey didn't marry but doesn't wish to say so !

Squeaky020 Report 29 Apr 2009 17:17

Oh blimey Potty,

I see what you mean ,

All the children were registered under Pickersgill as well as Gannon.

That strange too - why registered twice?

Both records have same vol & page number.

Potty

Potty Report 29 Apr 2009 17:09

They seem to have been registered under both Gannon and Pickersgill, so the father must have been present at the registration

Squeaky020 Report 29 Apr 2009 17:06

This is the only Audrey Pickersgill marriage I can find .....

Name: Audrey Pickersgill
Year of Registration: 1946
Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
Spouse's Surname: Bagot
District: Leeds (1939 Onw)
County: Yorkshire - West Riding, West Yorkshire
Volume: 2c
Page: 1133

So that would have made her 10 !

Not really possible.

But Artbeat has checked from 1958 onwards?

Strange.....

Also Dawn has said she spoke to Audrey (who remains quite withdrawn about her past), asked her about her marriage, Audrey said she can't really remember , but thinks she was in her late 20's.

Dawn told me that Audrey was born in Stockport in 1936.

So possibly early 60's she was married?

Squeaky020 Report 29 Apr 2009 16:56

I did have a PM from Dawn saying that on the 1st four of the children's certificates it stated mother's name as Audrey Pickersgill but then on the last child' certficate it stated mother's name as Audrey Gannon -maiden name Pickersgill, that was in 1969.

So Dawn is sure they married.

Donna.

Searched up to 1973, still nothing, maybe Donna's right.

Squeaky020

Squeaky020 Report 29 Apr 2009 16:33

Is it possible that they never actually married???

The children just took on the father's name?

Donna

Artbeat

Artbeat Report 29 Apr 2009 16:16

Sorry or is just me, I am confused i see that all 5 children were registered with the mothers maiden name of pickersgill.

Snap netty, I checked for there marriage from 1958 forward and could not find it.
