I need help trying get a copy of the 1901 census and before for James Ainsley, (Quarryman in 1911) with daughter Elizabeth I think 7 years old. (Not Elizabeth from Gateshead.) She got married in April 1911 aged 18 to John Thomas Stoves in Wingate, co.Durham.. |

On the marriage certificate...who are the witnesses? What address does Elizabeth give? Do you know if she had any siblings? |

So, you are looking for James Ainsley from 1901 backwards? What year of birth does he have and where was he born and likely to be living. (Did you get his details from the 1911 census or the marriage cert?) |

What occupation does she give for her father James? It is possible he was deceased but it wasn't recorded...I assume your info is from marriage cert NOT 1911 census? |

There are a number of Amsley mistransed from Ainsley Brian. If you look at the actual image you see the correct name. |

Gwen, again thanks. Are you saying wife and daughter are called Annie? On the wedding cert it is spelt Anne or Anni but the daughter is deffinetly Elizabeth. |

Gwen, I was looking at the 1901censusonline.com, here i found Ainsley's record. I don't have ancestry, i paid for credits on census.com. It was a problem cos i live in Thailand and don't have a credit card. |
