	Hello all, Thank you for your help and in future I will remember to use moer than one thread - I agree this could get messy, I just didn't want to take up too much space, so to speak. I will try familysearch ... I had forgotten about that. Yes, I am looking at siblings, but from one specific family. I am thinking of using some of this research as part of my degree; I will examine one family, and set their lives and circumstances against the wider socio-economic and political background of the UK. I hope this explains why I set it out like this. Peter
