Just wanted to post this as it is the same person as in the other census records, and the only Tom Broadbent that I could find that was born in Topcliffe or had any connection with Topcliffe. |

The occupation in the census means that he was an apprentice to someone making agricultural machinery, so it actually fits quite well for a future engineer. |

i'm not sure, i think he went to work as an engineer when he was young, possibly at sea. i dont really have much info apart from what my grandpa can remember which is a bit sketchy thanks for your help though |
