Thank you Seaham Lass for your work. I really don't know how to procede now. I had never considered the possibility that the name may be wrong. Although they did elope, she had already been disowned by her parents---- which was very hard when you consider that she had lost two fiancees in the war----but I wonder if there was another reason for this i.e. was he German? The ill feeling at that time was understandable. I'm basing this on the fact that all research so far points to this being a German name.Thank you too , to all the other kind people giving me help.
