Thanks for all the advice Mick, with regard to this William Hall's death (b. 1885) he would have been my husband's grandfather - we have spoken to my husbands;s older brother, who knew very little about their fathers parents, he has however, told us that William Hall above did die in the first world war, but he doesn't know anything other than that. So guess I need to go researching lots of different place.
Again thanks for the advice

good morning elaine,
said it was a long shot, but never dismiss the fact that births are not registered on the day. they can be born in 1quarter and registered in the next, even born in one year and registered in the next
i mean no offence to you but for any new researcher it is worth reading genuki's (google it) facts on certificates and definitely following the link to barbara dixons page.
i hope the 2nd marriage certificate puts you on the right way
regards
mick

Elaine Report 7 Nov 2008 21:26

Very long shot I would say - Truro is quite a long way from Redruth - also he was definately born 1886 so would have been 26 in 1912 also that death was jan feb mar quarter 1912 - Hyacinth wasnt born until 1913

Wrong second marriage Grumpy - it is the one found by Enritchart - but I already have this - I am looking for william Hall's death as I said he married Catherine Hugo 1906 they had children, william in 1906, Sidney in 1909 and Hyacinth in 1913 - she later married Robert Thomas 1922 and ad Victor in 1923 - but I can't find when William would have died - I suppose they could have divorced but that is quite unlikely

hi elaine,
is this the correct marriage from freebmd

Marriages Sep 1906
HALL William Redruth 5c 353
HUGO Catherine Redruth 5c 353

when asking for info on here please try and give as much as possible, making mistakes in names doesn't help.
i.e. augustus or kate or catherine
i.e. hall or halls
with millions of names these little differences make it almost impossible to help you.

You could buy the wife's remarriage certificate to see if she is a widow.
