I wonder if Abbeca, which is hard to read on the image, could possibly be Albena, as per the following birth registration from www.freebmd.org.uk

Peternel/Peternell does seem to have a "real" name, albeit somewhat unusual


as I said, I found 24 on the 1841 census, 22 on the 1851 census, from all over England, but mainly in Cornwall

Yes I know its shooting in the dark, and looking further, Oliver and Patience had a son Thomas in 1829 - Oliver and Peternell had a sone Thomas in 1817 - if they were the same person (Patience and Peternell) I mean, she wouldnt have two sons called Thomas - unless of course the original Thamas 1817 had died!!
