i dont seem to be having any problems with my nans dads side of the family just my nans mums side as her mum died when my nan was only 4 so very little is known about that side of the family

Rebecca you can order copy certs from the GRO & each one will cost you £7

You will need both a birth & marriage cert for each person or at least those in you directline (grandparents/G Grandparents etc)

A copy cert will normally take a week to arrive but they are running slow at the moment due to WDYTYA? on tv.

Until you have some certs there is no point in trying to dig back any further as you may be chasing the wrong family
