Could some look up some 1891 Census look ups for me please.

I am looking for John Holton and have narrowed the area down to St Saviour or Islington or more promisingly St George in the East. His wife's name is Katherine/Catherine. I have no idea if there were any children.

Many thanks
Janet

Many thanks for the quick responses Vera and Glitter Baby.

I have no idea where/when John Holton was born. My Great Aune Sarah Holton was put in an orphanage and I'm curious to find out more details. Her marriage certificate lists John Holton as her father and he was a Blacksmith. She married in St George East and was born at a mothers home in Commercial Road. I'm unable to make out her mothers name apart from Katherine. There is a marriage in 1884 for John Holton and a Catherine Temple in Bethnal Green, but not sure if this is the right family.

I hope that is of more help.

Hi Janet,
Both the Sarahs on the 1901 census according to the census are 17.....yet the birth certificate shows she was born in 1893...which would make her 7/8...!!

Not so sure about the 1901 image

Too many of the kids are listed as school girl or boy and they are too old to be classed as that. Several appear to be 19

Think the check marks have got to close to the ages

Just a thought Janet.....I wonder if the Sarah Holton on the 1901 with the same parents as the Sarah born 1893 was the mother of the 1893 Sarah and her parents registered her as their daughter..... does that make sense to you.

Hi Vera
Are you saying that the Sarah in the 1891 census could be the mother of my Sarah, but everything registered under 1891 Sarah's parents names?
