Hi Mary

thank you for your reply, the Peter Mclaughlin that i am thinking to be my great grandad was born in 1873, and even more interesting is that my auntie (my grandads first daughter) was named Lavinia Catherine Ann, and she appears to have been born 4 years after my grandads adopted mother died, would you happen to know where Peter and Catherine were living in 1911 would you??
i have also found that Frederick Moutters mothers name was Mary Ellen moutter but again there is no record of her after Fredericks birth could anyone help in tracing Mary after on the 1911 census or after??

thank you

Justin

The closest I can find for Mary Ellen Moutter in the 1911 census living in Northumberland is this one

Muter Mary Ellen F Single 1893 School teacher Northumberland Sleekburn

She was living with her family at 22 Shop Row Bedlington Colliery Bedlington

Peter and Catherine were living at 24 Quality Row in the parish of All Saints in 1911. When I did an address search there are four families listed for number 24.

I have tried to see if I can find a connection with Peter and Catherine and the Muter family but unfortunately can't find Peter and Catherine's marriage to see if Catherines's maiden name may help.

Hi Justin

This seems to be the most likely marriage for Peter and Catherine.......certainly ties in with the 9 + 1/2 years married on the 1911 census as well:

Name: Peter McLoughlin + Catherine Smith
Year of Registration: 1902
Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
District: Chester Le Street
County: Durham
Volume: 10a
Page: 616

Mary

Edit: There is no image available for the Peter McLoughlin side of the above marriage, so if you were to order it you would need to order for Catherine Smith. Checked on FMP and his entry is not on there either so looks as though his entry has been omitted, or misspelt!
