he may possibly Scottish or Irish, although my nan doesn't think so, and he spoke with a southern accent, would you know which sites do scottish or Irish searches????

Justin, McLaughlin sounds more Irish to me, difficult to get hold of Irish births, they are not online.
If per chance he was Scottish, then Scotlandspeople is the site to go to, it is pay per view though.

Would somebody please help, I am trying to trace my grandads birth registration His full name is: Peter Frederick Mclaughlin , I have found out he died in oct/nov/dec 1983 in Croydon, on the registration it gives a DOB of 03 Sept 1912, and i have also found out that he got married to my nan Phyllis St.John July/Aug/Sept 1943, I have searched uk and wales records from 1906-1921 without results, i would be very greatfull for any help anyone can give
