Hi Dea

The furtherst I can get back to is 1791 for Churchman but does not give much info on it and does not give wifes name of Elizabeth

Think I will have to call a halt to this for the time being and perhaps contact the Susses FHS.

I have searched some of the male side of the family and thought I would start on the female side but this is more difficult it appears. The man keeps his name and of course the woman keeps changing hers??

Thanks again and will post if I get stuck (will not say brick wall because I know this irritates some members LOL) mine is just a couple of courses high at the moment.

Regards Paula

I think LFW was pointing out that the Churchman who married Harriet was the son of Churchman and Sarah b c1813 - Therefore - 'your Chrchman (who married Fanny) is most likely to be the son of Churchman + Elizabeth and born c 1815.

The one who married Harriet I would ignore for now as it will only confuse, however he is most probably related in some way so save the info for a later date !

For now - concentrate on Churchman b c 1815 Cuckfield - son of Churchman + Elizabeth !

Hi I have trying to study the information posted above come to the following conclusions what do you think??

1851 Census which Dea posted I beleive is correct one at Churchman would be approx 36

1841 Posted by Lost for Words seems possible for Bolney House as Churchman age is listed as 25 (give or take) although on the 1851 census says he was born in Cuckfield and not Boney

1841 Census listed he was married to a Harriett (there is a big age difference almost 20 years) Unless he was married previously

On the 1851 he is married to Fanny which is the one I believe is correct

Your opinions would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Thanks Dea

Glad you got sorted out with the electrics as you say it could have been very dangerous - just as well you WERE in the room to notice it.

I will do as you suggest and leave the thread on (I have already printed off details) I know what you mean about getting frustrated when people delete messages and I am about to do the same thing (silly me) I am just trying to keep my recent threads down - tidy mind ah LOL

Anyway thanks and good luck with all the searches you choose to help people with and also the ones you have to do on your on behalf. I have seen you name on hear quite a few times as well as the other which have answered this thread and have always been impressed with the response.

Hi Paula,

Yes - the light got sorted - husband 'disarmed' it.

He took it down and it had got SO hot inside that the metal 'transformer' had melted!! - It was so dangerous that I am going to send it to Trading Standards next week - If I hadn't been in the room to switch it off it WOULD have started a fire !

Anyway, with regard to deleting this thread! - May I please suggest that you do NOT delete it - especially if you think you may need more help on the subject later ?

Those on here who try to help others on a regular basis get extremely frustrated when people delete their threads as all the previous info that they have found has gone and people have to repeat all that same work again.

Much better if you just leave your thread on here and if you then need more help you can just add to the thread again which will 'bump' it up to the top again.

That way, anyone continuing to help can see everything that has already been found on the subject and continue from there with all the info to hand.

Good luck with your search..

Hi I have managed to find the marriage of Churcman to Fanny in 1842

I tried to find the birth of Churchman c1815 in Cuckfield but the only one I can find was born in 1813 and died in 1849 so cannot be the correct Churchman any ideas/

Got info from familysearch,

Thanks

Just noticed I did not put the census look up date for Ellen Chandler at the beginning of my message - more haste less speed as they say

Could someone do 1891 many thanks

Obviously a typo on the 1861 for Fanny should be 39 and not 59 thought she was knocking on a bit for a child of 5 and 7??

Thanks for looking very much appreciated

P.S. - I think the 1861 image actually says age 39 for Fanny - not 59, - which would also fit in with this census !!
