Hello,
I'm trying to build my family tree and new this hobby.
My maternal family are from a small farm in Kilnavar, just outside Cavan.
My grandmother is Lila (ELiza Ann) Maguire and her father was William Henry, born around 1875. Her mother Sarah Morris was much younger than William Henry and originated from Co. Tyrone. Lila is still with us and passed on many family names and connections.
Lila had 8 siblings which I believe are now all deceased with the exception of Bertha.
Many of Lila's aunts and uncles on both sides of her family emigrated to America and seemed to have settled in New York. We don't have any contact with any of these descendants so if you recognise any of this information it would be great to hear from you.
Most of Lila's siblings settled in England so there must be some relatives out there...
Lila's children's names are; Tony (Albert), Jean (Mary), Billy (William), Frances, Henry, Stephen and Val. All still with us.
It would be great to hear from you if you can fill me in on any gaps in my Grandma's memory and update me on how the family is doing.
Family christian names seem to be; Sarah, Frances, Mary, William, David, James and Elizabeth.
I believe our Irish cousins are; Harrisons, Gaffneys and Jacksons
Thanks in advance,
Renee
