I have hit a brick wall. I am trying to find where Thomas Battersby came from. Thomas Battersby b. 1805. He married a Christiana (nee Gibbon) b. 1806 her f. William Gibbon. and m. Sarah Gibbon and her parents are possibly from Middlesex. Thomas and Christiana married in January 1825. Children Maria b. abt 1830 died infancy. Henry William Battersby b. 1821. Sarah Elizabeth Battersby b. 1826, Thomas Archibald Battersby b. 1827 and John Battersby b. 1837.They left England in 1838/39 for Australia. I have no idea which parish records I could look up, furthermore the name Battersby in Northern England especially in the late 1700's through the 1800's was very common. I have had a number of nice and well meaning contacts through genes reunited, but my Thomas and Christiana remain a mystery. Any leads would be appreciated. |
