WILTON FAMILY

I am trying to extend my WILTON line back into the 1700s.

My Grt. Grt. Gr/mother was JANE WILTON --1878 (Strand) -1962 (Coulsdon, but lived for along time in Brixton).

Her father was ROBERT WILTON 1846 (Strand) - 1912 (Lambeth).

His father was JOHN WILTON (possible middle name = BENTLEY, c1815 (Strand) - 1851 (Strand).

His father was JAMES WILTON. All I know of him is that he was probably alive after 1842 and his wife was possibly NAOMI.

Additional clues may assist:

* A common trade in this family was painter/decorater/paper stainer.

*Associated surnames = TIPPETT - BODKIN - HADDON - BULL.

* Possible West Country connections --unproven at present.

Look fwd. to hearing from you.

Derrick..
