what happened to Harry Wilfred Hassell

I am trying to find anyone related to Harry Wilfred hassel/Hassell.
He was born in 1888 and married ivy may harding.
He went out one day and never returned.This was between july 1937 and march 1938.
I just want to know what became of him as when he left my grandmother was pregnant with their third child(my mum).
There must be someone out there that is also related to him as i know he had a few brothers and sisters.I often wander if he remarried and had more children.
I lost my mum two years ago and feel that this is the last piece of a puzzle that needs to be completed and laid to rest.
