Sue ,
Thank you for being honest , I am not trying to find any more information on the death , I just want his death Certificate as he was my grandmother's brother.

Gemin, go here and log in :-
https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates

Just click overseas on the place of death where it says "For overseas events which were registered with the British authorities" then "7. Death Certificate (Overseas events)"

I don't know if you were hoping to find out extra information from the certificate, but it wont tell you any more (in fact less) than the cwgc entry. Cause of death is usually either died of wounds, or died in action.

KeithInFujairah Report 4 Jul 2008 11:25

Did you see its capital i not 1?
If it is in the military deaths, I would think you have to order it as an overseas death as he died in France I assume.

Ceefer

Ceefer Report 4 Jul 2008 11:25

normal death , Keith
I didn't order it as GRO wouldn't accepted it cos of the decimal

Findmypast has it as Ramsbottom, Henry, Corporal, 15667, K.O.S.B. 1915, I.9 131 (Thats capital i dot 9)

Did you order it as an overseas death or a normal death?

I dont understand what you mean by decimal, I have not seen a registration with one at all, as far as I know they dont use them.

What was the name and when did he die? Will check the image again for you.
