As both Alfred and his married sister were staying with their mother on the night the 1871 census was taken, perhaps there was some sort of family emergency?

This is from 'Old Occupations'........

Found him....you meant the 1881 census.

It does read 20 Furnace Inn Street, Bowling, Bradford.

His wife is Emma.

I don't think that Susan Tinker (Tinner?) is with the family, but living next door. There is a double stroke after the entry for John Mason, which means the end of one household and start of another...so it looks like she is living at no. 22.

His occupation does read Engine Tenter....in joiner's shop has been crossed out.

They were all born in Bradford except John..Pudsey.

So sorry about lack of ref. Alfred was born in Bradford and was age 34 in the census and the address was 20 Furnace (cant read) Street.
