My grandfathers aunt was Emma B Ebdon born 1886 Devon
Parents were Walter Ebdon and Edith Ebdon (mmn Bamsey).
Everyone in the family keeps talking about a Beatty and i have no trace of this person being, could Beatty be Emma by any chance? how do i trace her middle name without ordering any certs?

Beatty is usually short for Beatrice, but they used to call themselves all sorts of names, I've had a Charles calling himself Edward for no reason??!!

Well maybe Emma's middle name was Beatrice.

Ok looks like it's Bertha, still like to know where Beatty came from.
