Find Ancestors

Could anyone please tell me how i can find if my grandad had any brothers or sisters please as i dont know how to go about it.Details are very limited and i am having big problems trying to find any of his relatives .My grandad was Patrick James Boyle born 1908 in Glasgow but i dont have a month,he was married to Mary Ann Kilkie on the 12th of April at St Francis"s Church Gorbals Glasgow in 1935 and died at 10 1/2 Eglinton Lane Gorbals Glasgow on the 25/26 May 1946.His parents were Francis Boyle born around 1885 and died around 1950 in Glasgow and Rose Montford born around 1885 and died around 1950 in Glasgow.This is all that is known of them and my search cant go any further so any advice would be great.My E mail is [email protected] from Tommy Boyle.

You need to go to Scotlands People site.
This is the official GRO for Scotland.
If you type in Scotlands People on your curser bar and click search, it will bring up there official site.
It is a pay to view site at £6 for 30 credits.
You can order certificates on line but you have to pay for them.

I have obtained a marriage cert for a Rosey MOUNTFORD and Francis Boyle that gives an address as 94 King St Glasgow in 1901,occupation for Rosey is a dressmaker.A John MOUNTFORD was a whitness at the marriage this seems very similar to the details that Rose has supplied me with for the 1901 cencus above.On there sons death cert she is down as Montford......HELP!

The address for Francis is also 94 King St?

That's a question. What's the address for Francis on the marriage cert? What's his age?

Thomas dont discount Montford as the correct name. Spelling mistakes with names is not uncommon on birth and marriage records.

Rosey Montford living with John Montford in 1901 could be brother and sister.

This might explain why John Mountford/Montford was witness to Roseys wedding to Francis

There are 7 Montford names all born Ireland and are boarders mainly in Glasgow on the 1901 census

The address for Francis on marriage cert is 94 King St Tradeston Glasgow age 25

Rosey & Francis marriage cert should give both sets of parents names. What are they?

Claire i couldn't find a marriage, this thread is really an extension of one Thomas already had going...

I think his parents and indeed Patrick himself was born in Ireland.... and i have already recommended Thomas jump on an Emerald Isle thread .... there are many of them. Thomas mentioned in a previous thread patrick spoke with an irish accent... altho i wouldn't rule out an English birth...but there def ins't one in Scotland that i could see....

Doesn't look like Thomas has taken my advice!!
