Hi Virginia,
I have his birth cert born 1 oct 1863, he just dosnt appear on any cencus anywhere. Help, Help. Im really stuck for ideas now.

it's possible that the age on the census is wrong as they were often filled in by the person collecting the information, because so many people couldn't write themselves, can't sem to find him otherwise, good luck with this one.

If you haven't got his marriage cert is it possible that you have the wrong person?

There is a William John R Long born 1881 reg Bethnal Green - Glitter Baby has mentioned what is probably his marriage above.
