hi everyone, thank you for all the information, sorry I've not been near the computer since my last post. I was hoping Robina may have had children but looking through the posts of census details from the 1881 it doesn't look as if any of hers survived. I've been looking for a Daniel/Donald Taylor who accompanied my great grandmother when she married and left Inverness to live in Portsmouth with her new husband. I was trying to work out which of my great great grandmothers brothers this Daniel/Donald is related to. |

I'ld be inclined to Glitter Baby's first choice. Robina S R McDonald was unmarr in 1881, not wid. |

Thanks for those I don't think either of those are her, she was a rag sorter on an earlier census. |

Thanks Potty for the 1851 census, its the same family that have lead me a merry dance!! I've looked for them on the 1841 when I had ancestry but never found them. |

Thank you for the 1871 details, so she was born in Inverness. |

Can't find them after this. This could be Archibald in 1851 although mother's age is 10 years out: |
