Jessie aka Maddies mate

Jessie aka Maddies mate Report 20 Apr 2008 21:21

Got the cert for Frank Hall to see if he was the son of Emma Hall and her first husband or the son of Emma and Henry Fellows 1849...............He was a Hall and not a Fellows even though later he cheanged his name to Fellows

JaneyCanuck Report 20 Apr 2008 20:47

It likely wouldn't help, but one never knows -- the birth of Frank Hall, Emma Hall's child in 1881:

Births Dec 1880
HALL Frank Sheffield 9c 456

Mind you, there was one born in Aston the same quarter, just in case the 1881 census isn't accurate:

HALL Frank Aston 6d 417

Just thought it might be a teeny bit of help to rule out the Henry in 1871 with wife Mary A and daughter Sarah.

They're in the 1881:

Name: Sarah Fellows
Age: 10
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1871
Relation: Daughter
Father's Name: Henry
Mother's Name: Mary Ann
Gender: Female
Where born: Tipton, Staffordshire, England

Jessie, have you looked at this marriage? It's possible that Henry Sr. may have married his first wife between Emma and Henry. This happened in my family (husband was a mariner). My ancestor had 3 childen by her husband prior to the marriage. And then proceeded to have 5-6 more children.

Joan the one you have posted looks interesting, but not sure as Sarah doesn't appear with the family in 1881 and Emma isn't showing in this census

Shirely see the post above the workhouse one..........In 1881 his children are living with Emma Hall who later becomes their step mother

Those are the cert's that I sent for about two years ago and both were not my great grandad.
