Find Ancestors

I am looking for the marriage of Thomas Schofield and Eliza Ann Leiboodene or something very similar.
I have purchased 2 of their childrens birth certificates but on both of them the surname of the mother is not clear.
Their first child was born c1849.
I have tried searching for the entry of marriage for Thomas and then looking through all the "L's to match with the entry number.
They are living in Limehouse,Stepney in 1861 and their children were born in Limehouse.
Dose anybody recognise Eliza's surname?
Eliza was born in Portsea Hants and Thomas was born in Shoreditch Middlesex.

i have the 1861 census, that is where i got the childrens names from.
i am trying to find the marriage to get me back another generation.
i have found an entry for thomas schofield married in 1845, st lukes which is the area they were living in. I could take the chance and buy this one and give Eliza's name as a confirmation check.

yes i have just discovered that eliza was a servant in 1851 and still in portsea and then her marriage in 1863. try again.!!
i wonder what kind of accent she had when she registered her children?
both registrars have written the name she said in a similar way. she made her mark, so could not write it down for him.

one cert is clearer than the first i bought but it is definately an L to start then ei or an open a,
i thought at first it could be jewish as they were living in east london but then she came from hampshire.

Well, believe it or not, this IS your family on 1851 census - very badly transcribed !!

You need to check the image but it is them - not sure it helps though, I was hoping they would have a relative with them.

Thomas is a 'Nautical Brazier' and the address 'could be 152 Smith St?? - It is a very difficult image to read.

hi everybody,
thank you all for helping me, especially Dea who found Thomas in 1851 and then again in 1841.
I might have to let that side of the tree come to an abrupt end. Next time i am at the records office i will take the certificate with me and see if they can solve it.
