Can someone please check out the 1861 and 1871 census for John Stratford and his wife I think her name is Louisa....possibly in the Middlesex area.....Thank You Margaret

Hi Pollypoppet...Do you mean D.O.B....I think John was born about 1827 but am not sure about Louisa..I think his proffession was either a Mechanic or a Botanist(Maybe Florist )in those days...Thanks margaret

Hi Pollypoppet....I know he had a son called thomas Stratford born in 1858 as I have his marriage certificate that is how i found out his fathers name was john..Many thanks margaret

Hi Sablon...Thomas was born in Birmingham in 1858.....I typed in the wrong date ..sorry but have now changed it to 1858 which is correct...margaret

Hi Margaret....I am really stuck on this one as not only can I not find John Stratford but also cannot find Thomas ..I think maybe they moved around alot and they were'nt entered on them........I have found Thomas on the 1881 census as being married to a Mary Conner in Cheshire.....but cannot find anything out about him before then only his birth in Birmingham in 1858.....They are a mystery...Margaret

Can somebody check the 1861 and 1871 census for John stratford spelt as John Strattford as they changed spelling of names.Please Margaret

Margaret, I had tried John Stra* on both 1861 and 1871. No luck. Also tried Thomas Stra* born 1858. Just tried Strattford. Still no luck.

why you think mother is called Louisa?
what other names are on the marriage cert? i.e witnesses

Hi Janice....I have been trying to find a marriage for John Stratford and the only ones I can find married a louisa.......Thomas married in the Isle of man and the witnesses are Charles Hall and Thomas Henry kelly and I don't think they sound as if they are related to thomas or Mary Connor..Margaret

perhaps you might like to try sending for a birth cert. If you ask for a check against fathers name if it is'nt John then thy dont send the cert and refund part of the cost

Yes Janice I have children for Thomas......But it was his father and mother I was trying to find and maybe brothers and sisters...yes I will send for a birth certificate....Margaret
