Find Ancestors

Hi, I have my Gt. Grandparents William and Charlotte Stannard nee Cater. I am looking for HIS parents only know that he came from Suffolk Town NK., But lived in Wandsworth on the 1901 census age 50. Looked up gro records for birth and found a William Stannard J/F/M 1850 in Woodbridge? Do you think this could be him? I did find a Stannard Family with a son William in Suffolk they were Inn Keepers on the 1851 census William and Emily and they had a son William. They came from Woodbridge do you think these are his parents? Kathy

Potty, Thank you I did find all the children's births apart from my grand mother Ellen Anna and Rose. How did you find it? I even wrote to the GRO office and they sent me an e-mail back and said they probably were not registered! so I gave up. I did however send for one of the brothers Cater Brockwell and was suprised to find his mothers maiden name was Cater. Thank you Kathy

I found the Margaret Rose's birth on freebmd, which is probably where Janet found the marriage.

Kathleen, found it on freebmd by specifying "phonetic search" for surname - as the spelling is slightly off it would not locate it otherwise. A useful facility. recommend it if you are having trouble!
