Please.....I would love to know more about Martha Ann Emmett. Born c 1847 died c 1911.
Little Horton, Bradford. Lived on Tumbling Hill Street.
Before she married William Grayson and had our grandmother she had, (I think,) a son named Walter and a daughter named Clara.

It is Emmett NOT Powell on the image.

I just don't get this at all. She was born Emmett then was Powell in 1881 and married William Grayson in 1882.

No, she is Emmett on the image, it has been mis-transcribed as Powell, which is why the correct name has been suggested in brackets.

Anne - the 1881 is just a mistranscription of very bad writing on the original form.

The name on the original IS Emmett, as patchem says.

Interestingly enough there is a Thomas Grayson age 75 living next door to her in 1881. I wonder if he is her future husband's father?
