Trying to help a friend and cant find 1851,61,71,or 81 census entrys.

looking for George Daniels, born 1837, son of John Daniels and Ann. Siblings (according to 1841) John, Mary, Betsy, Maria and Nathan.

George married 1859, age 20 to ELLEN CRAWLEY, age 19 in spittalfields , london. Ellen was the daughter of Patrick Crawley, a tailor (according to marriage cert.)

CANT FIND GEORGE AND ELLEN in 1851, 61, 71 or 1881.

CANT FIND A DEATH FOR ELLEN.

george remarried 1882 in bethnal green, east london,he was age 39 widow to Jane Wilson (i have her family, she too was a widow) she had 2 children by previous marrige - Alfred Robinson , age 3 in 1881 and Mary a Robinson, age 5 in 1881. In 1881 jane was staying with her parents in Mile end london. witnesses on 2nd marriage were Edward burgess and mary ann burgess (poss maiden name daniels, marr mar 1878 bethenal green)

Any other clues, what was George's profession?

Did he have any children with Ellen?

both marriage certs are a little blured.

trying to find out if any children with ellen. cant find them anywhere other than on marriage cert.


in 1859 he was a cigar maker, same profession as father. witness at that marriage was joseph leary and ellen leary.

address in 1859 marriage was Birch lane.

address in 1882 was 17 (albyon? maryann?) street, commercial road (think that was whitechapel too)


george in 1882 at marriage was general dealer (think, not quite readable, but think it reads as that)

1881 right area but wrong wife (unless this was a middle name etc)

ellen when married was age 19 in 1859, think 1881-36 makes her too young.???

Yes I agree. Also she should be on the 1881 but I can't find her. Ages were sometimes wrong on death cert, the info given was only as good as the informant knew.

. If this is her death in 1881, i still cant find either of them in census as crawley/ daniels or soundex...

am open to suggestions
